Looking for information on Marie Sophie Charlotte Thomsen. Born 25 Feb 1885. Born in Silkegorg Parish, Gjern District, Skanderborg County. Gave birth to son on 15 May 1909. No father listed. Would like to find more information including if she married and when and where she died.

I found her family on the 1890 census of Silkegorge parish, Gjern, Skanderborg, but I could not find the birth record of her son in the Silkegorg Parish records for 15 May 1909. Do you know where he was born? That may help in tracking down Marie Sophie.

Thanks for your assistance. The information in the 1890 census was the last information I could find other that her son's birth information. The information on Georg Pauli Charles Thomsen was recorded in Højlund, Vørladegård, Tyrsting, Skadenborg, Denmark.

Thank you for your response. I believe that Marie Sophie Charlotte Thomsen's parents were Poul Thomsen and Mette Kirstine Madsen but I do not know much more than that so I would appreciate getting any additional information that you may have. In addition, I know that Marie Sophie Charlotte Thomsen had a child named Georg Pauli Charles Thomsen, who is my grandfather. In Canada he was referred to as just Paul Thomsen. I have never been able to find out who Paul's father was nor have I been able to find out what ever happened to Marie Sophie Charlotte Thomsen. We believed that she immigrated to Argentina but grandpa never spoke much of his family. We do recall that he said that he was raised by his grandmother as his mother left when he was a young child.

With regards to Paul Thomsen. I can provide a lot of information after he left Denmark in 1928. Just let me know the type of information you would like and I can provide it. It may be easier if you could provide an email address for me and I could then send pictures of grandpa and his wife if you would like. I also have pictures of his original homestead and then the farm that he eventually moved to.

We were very happy to hear from you so fast. My sister Birthe and I are trying to locate some of our ancestors and are very interested in knowing more about Pauli and his life after Denmark.
Your grandmother Charlotte was the daughter of Poul Thomsen and Mette Kirstine Madsen, who had 10 other children, one of which was our grandmother, Petra. Charlotte was no. 2 and Petra no. 8. We know the names of the rest of them too and some dates.
We have a copy of the parish register with Your grandfathers name. It says that Charlotte was unmarried and no father is mentioned.
Our mother wrote her memories in a book, and she wrote that Charlotte immigrated to Argentina, where she married and had 5 more children, and Pauli was brought up by his grandparents in Randlev. Three of her siblings went to Argentina as well, and we are in contact with two of my mother's cousins there.
We have a brother who happens to be in Argentina right now and we have asked him to try and locate some of Charlotte's descendents there, so hopefully we will be back with more information.
