Using a GILKEY Family tree, I have been able to trace my paternal ancestry back to Josiah FASSETT (1818-1900) of Freeman, Franklin County, Maine. Josiah is the son of Alexander FASSETT (1785-1858) and Sally GILKEY (1792-1829). Siblings include George Bacon FASSETT (1816-1885), John G. FASSETT (1820-1854), Alexander FASSETT (1822-1855), Margaret Ann FASSETT (1827-1858), Calvin Stockbridge FASSETT (1827-?), and Iantha (?) FASSETT (1829-?).

I am looking for information about ancestry prior to Alexander FASSETT. I'm new at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Ed

check out Richard Fassett b1747. He was the first of the Fassett's in our tree to come to the US, by the HMS Neptune with Gen Saunders in 1759. He deserted, stole a horse, and then settled in North Yarmouth, Maine. Trying to get to his hometown in England, then there is probably another few hundred years of lineage, as the Fassett/Faucett/Fawcett name is prevalent. If you find anything, lemme know!
