I do not know that much about my family ancestry. I would like to know more about it. I am trying to find out some things right now. All I know is that my dad is from Murfreesboro, TN.

I have a little information on a James, Jr. but sames is a pretty common name but here is what I have. James Jr. b.12 Aug 1832 in what is now Boone County, Mo. His parents were James Goforth b. 28 Jan 1770 in Mecklenburg Co., N.C. married to Mary Ann Lee who was b.04Feb1792 (place unknown) They were married on 17Dec1810 in St. Charles,MO. He died 25Aug1851 in Sabastian Co., Ark and Mary Ann died 06June1877 same place. James' siblings were: William Charles, David W., George, Nancy, and a girl and boy who I have no names for. Also have a James W. b.11Dec1840 in town of Denver, Carroll Co., Ark. probably not yours, but its a start. Good luck. If you need more on the James W. let me know.

I may not be much help but I also have Goforth ancestors who lived in AR. Amy Jane Amy Jane Goforth (married name "Whisnant") was my mother's grandmother, and maybe lived in Fort Smith AR. I am looking for records to prove my Native American heritage. Perhaps we could be of assistance to each other? I have a few photographs of Goforths. Please let me know. Best, RSCall

Thanks for your reply. It was Whisnant that Amy Jane married. Could I trouble you again in the next couple of days to check on her siblings whose names I will have to find?

Do you have info in general on Goforths with proven Native American Ancestry? Again, Many thanks. --RSCall

I expect. If you would like to contact me direct, my
