Is there a cemetery in Avery County by the name of Henson's (or Hensons) Creek? The death certificate of an ancestor states she was buried at Hensons Creek but I can't find a cemetery by that name. Some have suggested that the cemetery is actually Pittman Cemetery. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I do not know of a Henson or Henson's Creek Cemetery.

Thank you very much for this information. My ancestor is not listed in the Pittman Cemetery census, but of course, she could be buried in an unmarked grave. Do you know if the Pittman Cemetery is located near Henson's Creek? Thanks again for the reply and the great information.

The cemetery on Henson's Creek was at one time known as Pittman, but no longer. There ia a Pittman Cemetery that joins Slippery Hill Cemetery. If you will send me an email I will try to help you find your ancestor.dbogrouch@yahoo.com
