Reposting this-----I posted the query on Thursday and yesterday it was missing.

Thomas DIMON born 11 Dec. 1810 in Franklin Co., Vt. He married Sally Emily Treadwell in Weston, Ct. July 1837. Who were his parents? siblings?

Wakeman Dimon born Sept. 1802, died in Franklin Co. in 1827. Who were his parents? siblings?

Wakeman T. Dimon born 15 July 1827 in Franklin Co. Was he the son of the Wakaman mentioned above?

Both Wakeman T. and Thomas eventually moved to Marengo, Ill.

Hope someone out there can help me.

Thank you, Cheryl

Surnames: Andrus, Dimon
Hi Cheryl,
I have a Wakeman J. Dimon, b. ca 1802, d. 30 Sep 1827 in Fairfield, Franklin, VT; m. Diana Andrus (sister to my 3rd great grandfather). Wakeman is buried in Pumpkin Village Cemetery, Fairfield, VT.

Diana married second to Nathaniel Foster. There was a son by Diana, but I don't have his first or last name. So am not sure if he was a Dimon or a Foster. Unfortunately, I have very little on this family. No death date or place for Diana or Nathaniel Foster. Am going to search in Marengo, IL to see if perhaps that's where they ended up at.

If you have any more info that could help, please email me at

Surnames: Dimon, Bogenrief
I am a descendant of Wakeman Thorpe Dimon, Sr. who married Diana Andrus. He is buried in Pumpkin Village, VT. They had a son, Wakeman Thorpe Dimon, born in VT who married Ann Eliza Bogenrief at Woodstock, IL on July 4, 1853. They had seven children.

I would like to know who are the parents of Wakeman T. Sr., possibly Moses Dimon b. 1776 in CT. And who are the parents of this Moses.

I would like to trade information, and I have a few photos to share.

I've just started researching a Moses Dimon (b. Feb 1839 Conn) whose parents are Thomas (b. abt 1811) & Sally E (b. Jun 1814) of VT. Sally is listed living w/ Moses in the 1900 census McHenry, IL--she died a few month later. Do you have information on this Moses Dimon family?

I have a subscription to a newspaper site, article/classified ads from Fairfield in 1824 indicates there was trouble with Diana & Wakeman.
Date: Thursday, February 26, 1824
Location: St. Albans, Vermont
Paper: American Repertory
Article type: Ad/Classified

Apparently Wakeman had an article published which forbid "persons from harboring, trusting, employing on his account", his wife Diane the previous week and Diana had her response published in this paper on this date.

Date: Thursday, March 4, 1824
Location: St. Albans, Vermont
Paper: American Repertory
Article type: Ad/Classified

This weeks ad shows the ad that Wakeman published:

My wife Diana, has this date left my bed and board, contrary to my wishes and refuses to co-habitate with me, this is therefore to forbid harboring, trusting, employing
her on my account, as I shall pay no debts of her after this date.
Wakeman T. Dimond
Fairfield, Feb 14 1824

The same article Diana had published in the Feb 1824 article is again repeated.
dated 23 Feb 1824
It is quite lengthy and explains her reasons.

Date: Thursday, March 11, 1824
Location: St. Albans, Vermont
Paper: American Repertory
Article type: Ad/Classified

Diana's response is published for a third time. Also dated 23 Feb 1824.

All three dates are PDF format so I cannot post them here.
