My ggrandmother was Anna Basinger. She had a sister Lula. There was 12 children in all. I believe my gggrandfather's name was James Basinger. Any information you have would be appreciated.

I have a James A. Basinger (3-1-1872/12-27-1942) with a daughter named Annie Basinger (no info). I don't show her with a sister named Lula, but she did have a first cousin named Lula Belle Miller. Lula's mother, Susan Delila Basinger, was James' sister. I would love to see if we could make a connection somewhere. Unfortunately I haven't been able to devote much time this year to my research, but I hope to start digging again sometime soon. Good Luck.

I believe that James was my ggrandmother's father. Anna or Annie was born 9/29/1899. Does this match your information?
From Ancestry.com, there are lots of Basinger's in Rowan County. How are you related to James??

It appears we are from two different lines of James Basinger. My gggrandfather was James Oliver Basinger. More than likely somewhere down the line we are related if your family also came from Rowan County.

I just checked my father's database and find a James A Bassinger b ca 1872 m Martha A.E. Morgan b ca 1875 having one child Eva Belle Bassinger b 24 Dec 1897 d 13 Oct 1879 m Sanford P Jones and grandchildren James Beverly Jones b 2 Nov 1918 and Berry Edward Jones b 9 Aug 1922.

I have other Bassingers' in this data base and will be happy to share the information. Not all of this is on Ancestry by far. My dad is Robert E. Canup. I noticed you had looked at several Canup records.

Berry Jones is a cousin in my Mother's side of the family, through Arey heritage. I have a photo of the grave marker for Zeb Dee Basinger (2/27/1885-2/13/1960); first wife, Addie Gheen Basinger (4/18/1887-9/4/1916); second wife Sarah Arey Basinger (12/26/1892-3/30/1988. Are these names in your info? They are buried at Luther's Lutheran Church.

Hello,

I am looking for my Basinger family from Rowan County. My gg-grandmother was Beulah Marie Basinger who married a William H. Martin. She was born about 1881 and died around 1962 in, I believe, Gloucester County, NJ. Her family was from Salisbury, NC, but I have no clue what her parents names would be!

My Beulah is *not* to be confused with another woman who is also sometimes referenced as Beulah Basinger who married a William Vance Cooper. I think they were born around the same year as well.

Any chance you have any info of her in your records? Thanks!
