Death/obit of George A. MacDonald and wife Josephine

Death/obit of George A. MacDonald and wife Josephine

George A. MacDonald and his wife Josephine are on the 1930 census for Rochester, New York. He is 63 and she is 61, both born New York. I do not find them on the 1940 census so presume they both died.
Could anyone find their dates of death and/or obituaries? I believe that they belong to my Macdonald family that I have been researching for many long years. Thank you so very much for any help.

The 1930 through 1940 directories for Rochester are online at the Rochester library. They do appear there through 1938, but not in 1939 or 1940. But this may be a clue:

Fabulous. They are the couple that I have been following. Whether they are members of my MacDonald family remains to be proven. When Catherine Battell nee MacDonald died in 1907, there was a list of next-of-kin in the newspaper and one of them was George A. MacDonald of Rochester. I found 2 George MacDonald/McDonald in Rochester but this one seemed the better fit. If I can track him until his death, perhaps I can get a death certificate and/or obit to be sure.
Thank you so very much. I will try to get the original on familysearch.
