Surnames: Olmstead or Goodenouh
I found some info about a marriage of Rosetta Goodenough married Oct, 5, 1849 to a J. Olmstead . It also said it was in the Rochester Daily Democrat on page 3- column 3. I can not find the correct newspaper or the listing. I am lost.
Is there any one who can help me get a copy of their wedding announcement? I would appreciate any help.
I am not sure what the J. is short for. I am trying to find the marriage date for a George and Rosetta or Rosette (Goodenough) Olmstead. This is the first lead I have had.
Thanks for any help.

That sounds like it was from the Local Newspaper Index for Rochester. Often times those are just what the index has, and not much more. Have you tried the city directories? And there are plenty of church records still inn existence. but most of them are not online yet.

No, I haven't tried the City directories. I would like to try to get a copy of the newspaper article, but not sure how to go about obtaining one. If I got a copy of the article, would it have the name of the church in it? How do I go about getting a copy of the newspaper article?
If you can of assistance, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You,
Linda

Rochester is very lucky in that the library has a lot of good resources:
city directories: http://www3.libraryweb.org/lh.aspx?id=1105
newspaper index plus ordering info: http://www3.libraryweb.org/lh.aspx?id=963 (but the advisement that there can be no more than what is in the index - or it could be much more)
GOODENOUGH,ROSETTA Married J. 01mstead, RDD, 0 5, 1849, 3-3 but just to confuse the issue:
GOODENOUGH, RHODA (CLARENDON)
Married John Robinson (Clarendon),
RDD, F 16, 1842, 2-6; R<&, F 19, 1842, 36-3 (maybe a sister?)

The directories would show where people lived, and the library has maps of the city to help in finding churches.
http://www.libraryweb.org/rochimag/maps/home.htm

And you can see where they might be in the very informative 1855 census:
