Looking for the family of Amprose KILLINGSWORTH. He was
from Johnston Co, NC. Was in the Early & Clay Co area in
1820. Left somewhere around 1825 and moved to Barbour Co, Al
by 1830. He received land and it joined his son in law's
land John E. Parramore. In 1840 he had died and his land was sold by Mary his wife and son Thomas KILLINGSWORTH. Will be
glad to share information. Believe he had a uncle by the
name of Freeman KILLINGSWORTH. Any help would be appreciate.

Hi. I looked in all the cemetaries and while there are loads of Killingsworths, there is no Ambrose or Freeman. There is a Thomas Madison Killingsworth buried in Mt. Zion Cemetary; b.10 April, 1841, d. 19 April, 1905. He is buried with Marcus L. b. 23 August, 1915 d. 29 December, 1916 and Mary Rish b. 23 December, 1843 d. 29 Sept. 1917. All of these people were Killingsworths. Do you want the rest of the Killingsworths? Jane

Hi,
Thanks for trying to help. The only ones that might help is the oldest people that was there in the early 1800 to 1860.
I kept hoping that I might find someone with a Bible or pictures. If some of his children stayed in Ga they might have had them. It was just a shot in the dark. I have tried to find someone in Al but no luck.
Thanks
Addie

My GGGG Grandmother was Sarah Killingsworth- She married
James Whitaker. Her father was Daniel Killingsworth. They
lived in Early County and Clay when it changed. Some of the decendants from that family live in Phenix city, Ala.

I am researching Sarah's oldest brother's family--James J Killingsworth, bc1814; married 28 Jan 1838 Harriett Sanders [widow of Daniel Sanders.] I would love to have the birth/death dates for your Sarah if you have them. I have data on several of Sarah's brothers & sisters.
Do you have any idea when/where James J & Harriett died?

Emmett Walton Killingsworth's wife, Susan Ida Sanders was the daughter of James Richard Madison Sanders (22 Apr 1830-13 Apr 1881) and Mary Susan Greene (29 Aug 1839-16 May 1899.) Mary Susan Greene's father was Robert T Greene (3 Dec 1802-29 Aug 1873.) Her older sister was Ann Elizabeth Greene (13 Dec 1836-25 Sept 1912.) Ann Elizabeth Greene (13 Dec 1836-25 Sept 1912) married Rev. James F. McKemmie (2 May 1828-17 Dec 1887.)

These Killingsworths, Sanders, Greene's, and McKemmie's were all associated with Wesley Chapel Church on Hwy 37 East of Fort Gaines. Could it be the McKemmie's that you are interested in instead of McKimmacks?

I hope this helps.
