Surnames: Jenkins, Sprague
Looking for the family of my great-great-grandmother Hannah Catherine(?) Jenkins who married Gilbert Townsend Sprague about 1842 in Delhi, Delaware County, New York. The Sprague family had farmed in Sullivan County before moving to Delaware County. Hannah was born about 1825, perhaps in Delaware County, and died on or about 30 May 1869 in Cornell, Livingston County, Illinois. Her father's name may have been Llewelyn Jenkins.

Ma'am:

From an older Delaware county raised person comes this information found in the Andes 1865 census. Andes is a town next to Delhi and was named for its relationship to the Andes mountains in South America. When the fog or cloud layer comes down to the ground it makes it really a beautiful sight at times.

Following was found of your Sprague and her brother as well:

145 Sprague, Gilbert 44 Do Farmer

Sprague, Hannah 39 Wife Sullivan Co.

Sprague, Maria 19 Child Delaware Co.

Sprague, Harriet 18 Child Do

Sprague, Mary A. 16 Child Do

Sprague, Peter 15 Child Do

Sprague, Philip 13 Child Do

Sprague, Lorina 11 Child Do

Sprague, Margaret 8 Child Do

Sprague, Josephene 6 Child Do

Sprague, Thomas S. 4 Child Do

Sprague, Lucy J. 2 1/12 Child Do

Jenkins, John 46 Bro/Law Sullivan Co. Well Digger

Jenkins, William 8 Nephew Delaware Co.

It is hoped this will give you a clue to follow.

Happy Trails,

Jeremiah Palmer from Palmer Hill now Wake County N.C.
