I am researching the 68th NC Troops from the following counties:

Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Gates, Hertford and Pasquotank.

Captains Willis B. Sanderlin, F. M. Halstead and Caleb B. Walston were from Camden Co.

I am working to put together a roster and a history on this regiment. Any info would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dear Bill,

The library of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill contains the papers of Brigadier General Edward A. Wild, who led an anti-guerilla raid through Camden Co. in December, 1863. Among these papers is a captured roster of companies B and C of the then 66th N.C. Partisan Rangers, which later became part of the 68th N.C. Infantry. For a fee, they will make copies of these records and send them to you.
