Looking for information on the Chillicothe Normal School Actual Business Institute and Shorthand College. Cora Ann Burton is my gg-grandmother and her brother was Howard L. Burton. I have copies of receipts for Howard's expenses when he attended this school approx. 1895-1896. I would like to know if he graduated and if so what year.

The Chillicothe Normal changed its name about 1912 to Chillicothe Business College. It was a huge school until the 1940's. However, the main records department burned in 1925 and so the records of your ancestor are gone. There were year books after about 1910.
It depended on the course of study as to how long a person attended school. A complete course usually took only a year. Some studies took less time. The college would retrain a graduate when new technonogy caused problems with the job. Best wishes Sue Jones
