Wow, your posting sure put a bubble in my head! I have info dating back to 1814. Hugh McGinn (1814-1890) m. Catherine ? (1822-1894) Both born in Ireland. Also James and Bridget O'Connor, born in Ireland. Their connection is Patrick O'Connor (1851-1937) m. Annie O'Connor (1862-1893). Would love to know if any of this fits your research.

All we know is that she married Patrick O'Brien -- and that she was born May 25, 1825 in Derry and died 1/24/03 in Melrose, Iowa (aka Little Ireland). Her daughter Ella was my husband's maternal great grandmother. Good Hunting & God Bless - we've made no Ireland connections yet (on all the above gg grandparents) but we're not giving up!
Steve & Marilyn Coleman (in Iowa)

Interested in your Ellen Devine. Mine were from Donegal, but Derry just over the border. Do you have any other information on her?

Have you tried her death certificate? I know some US states give names of deceased's parents, as someone got a death cert from NY state for me, which proved that the deceased was a brother of my gggrandmother. Worth a try!

I know that your message is really old, but I'm wondering what progress you've made. I'm researching my great grandmother Kate Kelly, I believe to be from Co. Cork. She came to Phila. Did all of your Kelly relatives migrate to Iowa?
