I've been trying to get the Lewis Co Ky and Carter Co Ky Gilliam connects to Scott Co Va from 1850 census material to the present. Progress is being made on this task. I do have David Gilliam's will which is part of this message. David Gilliam is my ggg grandfather. I'm a descendant of his d Elizabeth Gilliam that married Andrew Ash. William Gilliam is my ggg grandfather also. He was born in 1801 and married Elizabeth Adams in 1821 is Scot Co va. He is not the son of Richard, David or William. The most likely candidate would be Martin.

The will of David Gillam listing all children.

A Will

In the name of God amen, the 25th day of November, 1833 I David

I am tying to trace Judith Gillam's family from Scott County, Va.. She was born around 1817. She married Dr. Boangeris Elkarah Dulaney in 1838. They were married in Scott Co. If any one could tell me who her parents were, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I'm Richard Gilliam from Brownsville, Haywood County, TN.

My grandfather, of course, was a Gilliam from Lexington / Scotts Hill, Henderson Co., TN.

My grandmother was a Scott from Lexington / Scotts Hill, Henderson Co., TN

I thought it interesting that you had info on both the Gilliams and the Scotts.

Just curious what you had found...

I have Gilliam's from this same area. Mine go back to a Mr. Gilliam who was shot and killed in 1829 returning back to Henderson co. from Madison Co., TN.

Do you have more particulars on yours? I may be able to help you.
