Jay,

Where did you get his siblings names? Did they live in MA? All you need is a death cert/obit on one (or all) of them --- aren't you lucky he's a Sam and not a "John," the most common of names?!

Do you have Katherine's date of death? Yes- they order a death cert which would give you cemetery and PHONE that cemetery for who/how many are buried with her and Sam's date of death.

I am only surmising that Sam's first born son was named after his father, possibly a Wm. Your research will be cracked wide open with a death certificate and obit.
The obit would give any immigrant sibling names, possibly townland and the cert would have asked his parents' names.

What about Katherine? Know when she died? Where she is buried? Any of their children still alive to ask?

Here is an interesting immigration record at ancestry -- too bad he was traveling alone ....

The only children I knew was my grandmother and Aunt Rose the other I didnt know and they are both dead, I wasnst into this when they were alive and no one else will tell me anything. Yes I beleive that is Wm. I have his birth date as Aug. 27, 1895 born in North Grafton. I have his death as Nov. 1966 in No. Grafton. I dont remember where I got these dates. Yes he was the oldest son. Samuel Jr. died May 17, 1974 in Bennington. Vt.
Sam Sr. seem to go to Ireland by himself. I have where he went and came back in 1910.
Again thanks again for the info I appreciate all the help.

Well - you more definitely need obits on the immigrants and children --- we want to see any immigrant sibilngs listed, and/or aunts, uncles, etc.

The fastest way to get dates of death is to PHONE the cemetery with Katherine's date of death and ask them to tell you who/how many are buried w/her and when.

Then stroll down to your library!

Kate

I'm looking for information regarding a Sam Nolon aka S.N. Nolan from Early County or Clay County, Georgia that passed away probably in September 1920 or in 1921. He was married to a Cora Thurmon or Thurman. She is buried in Mitchell County Cemetary. This is a caucasion family. Sam and Cora had quite a few children together. One of which was my grandmother Sammie May Nolan whom was adopted in 1924 by Will and Josephine Henderson of Houston County, Alabama. The adoption papers state her name being Sammie May but she always spelled it Sammie Mae. Cora tried to raise the children for a couple years after the death of her husband, but after failed attempts and struggles--she placed all the children for adoption (how sad!). Anyone having information on this family --- please contact me! Thanks and God Bless. Leaht95@msn.com
