I have access to the Croydon Local Studies Library and I'd be happy to do look ups there. Most of the records are arranged by street address rather than name although a couple of the censuses have been indexed.

Hello, I was wondering if you can help me, I am doing a FamilyTree Of John Fisher, He married a Harriett Stanley on the 6 april 1873 at Sutton by Croyden, Surrey, England, I think this is right they then had a child named Alice Fisher born 26 April 1863, and another born 15 Oct 1875 his name was George William Fisher( who is my great granddfather), then another child name Sidney Fisher I think he was born about 1879 they were all born in Sutton by Croyden, Surrey, England, I don't know if they had any more children or not, if you can help I would be grateful, I found out this information on the 1881 Census, Also John Fisher had a brother named Henry he was born about 1859. George moved to Tasmania, Australia he marroied here and died here. So I hope you can help.

You sound like a gift from heaven! I am having real trouble tracing my fathers family for him and am unable to travel to Croydon so could you help? I am trying to trace all relatives of William and Alice Elliff of 42 Whitehorse Lane, Sth Norwood, Croydon. I know they had several sons that died in WWI ( Frederick, Thomas and Ernest) but they also had 2 other sons and at least 3 daughters (possibly Annie, Margaret and Edith) I would be very grateful for anything you could find on them, including Williams parents/family, and any decendants.
There is a possible link to a John & Emma Elliff who lived in Croydon also, but its just a rumour at present.

i discovered that my grandmother who i never new died in west croydon hospital in 1935 age 38.she was at that time called josaphine mary cripps and was married to a william cripps of 123 dennett road croydon west. he was i believe a waitor at a restaurant. i can not trace where or when they got married and can find no trace of william after 1935. please can you help me/ god bless if you can, as i have tried everything, but found very little. i know my grandmother was in birmingham in 1922, but how she met william or got to croydon i do not know, as she must have been having a very hard time as she gave my father u7p for addoption and he died not knowing he had any familey. thank you if you can try tony davies

I am looking for information on the Barnes family. My grandfather was a British Home Child. I have a address of a sister of his who signed him over to Fegans in 1901 so he should be on the 1891 census. His sister address was listed as Nomington Hall Lower Addisconive Rd Croydon. Looking for all information on this Family. My Grandfathers name was Robert H Barnes and born approx 1887.

Hi I'm looking for my grandparents that came from croydon.
My grandfathers name is William Alfred Whibley born 6 july 1914 .He married Margery Rose Martin born 7 january 1923 they were married in 1 may 1948 . They had four children Kieth,John,Susan,Tina .They came to Australia in aprox 1961.
Williams fathers name was William George Whibley all I know about him is that he was a hairdresser.I also know that my grandmother still has a sister somewhere in croydon .If you can help it would be great for thats all my family knows.
