Newspapers in Mecosta county

Surnames: Church
Can anyone tell me who might have copies of the newspapers from the 1890's through 1910? I'll be in the area shortly but am unfamiliar with the territory.

I'm looking primarily for the Church family from Big Rapids.

Thanks

Ferris State University library (aka FLITE) has microfilm. Your best bet is to stop by the Campus Public Safety Office and get a free parking pass. It can be good for up to 5 days. If you don't get one, you'll have to pay 25 cents/half hour by metered parking, and they WILL ticket you if they catch you not paying. Park in the lot that faces on S. State St. south of Perry St. You'll see the library when you come into town on Perry St. At the dead end (at State St.) look ahead and slightly to the right. It's very large. If you need any more info, just email me at rootsgeni@yahoo.com.

Cool! University libraries are usually great sources. I didn't know about Ferris. Definitely will try it.

Thanks so much

You are very welcome. Forgot to mention that the newspaper film you're looking for is "The Big Rapids Pioneer". Good luck with the hunt, and be sure to ask for help if you have any problems with the film reader. The staff is very good about helping.
