Hi, I am looking for relatives of Thomas Hardee, born 22 May 1846 in Ogmore, St Brides Major Glamorgan, South Wales. First wife was Mary Jane Jones, who died on 22 Nov 1888 in Scofield, Carbon, Utah. They had at least 9 Children (all Hardees). He then married Ann Lloyd on 21 Jun 1889 in Scofield, Carbon, they had 3 children Alvin, Rulon and Rosina. Ann had 3 children from a previous marriage, surname was Morgan. Ann died on 13 April 1947 in Helper, Carbon and Thomas died 14 oct 1926 in Salt Lake City. They are both buried in Huntingdon, Emery.

Does anybody know of their descendants?

I would love to hear from you.

Whilst I do not know the relatives, I may know someone who does! If you want to see the area your ancestor/s lived, please visit our web site of the area: www.stbridesmajor.co.uk. In the 1870s (or thereabouts) many people emigrated from this area to Utah as they joined the Mormon faith.

Thanks

Dear Dawn

Many thanks for your reply re: Thomas Hardee from St Brides Major and the web site link. I have now had the opportunity to look at the website. You said you might know of someone who may know my family, did you manage to contact them. Do you think that my family were members of the Mormon church and do you know when they emigrated to America?

I look forward to hearing from you again.

Kind regards

Jacqueline Allen

PS I live in London, England

Dear Tim

Many, many thanks for your kind reply. I live in London and I am researching the Hardee family from Glamorgan. My great grandmother was Lilian Harding, I have traced back and the family were originally Hardee and came from St Bride's Major. I discovered that many of the family emigrated to USA in the 1800's, some to Utah and some to Pennsylvania. Perhaps you could let me know who your great, great grandfather was, and I will gladly give you any info you require.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Jacqueline Allen

My grandfather William HARDING or David LLOYD was born in 1917 at Laurenny Cottage, St Brides Major. His mother was Robina Emily Kate HARDING. He was adopted soon afterwards. He is still alive and would like to know more about our family history.
