I believe he lived in South Carolina and his father changed the family name from "Byers" to "Byars" sometime around 1900. Thanks.

I'm looking for my grandmothers family. I'm not sure if it's Byars or Byers. Her name was Ollie Ann Byars/Byers, born 1884,died 1974, was married in Mo. to Jonathan Vester Mosley and left for Okla. She is buried in Okla(Cleveland County). I went to the cemetary with her years ago when I was young. The whole cemetary was full of relatives. I wish I knew where it is located. I was told Plainfield, or outside of Springfield. I think she is related to the last name Edmonson somehow. She had an uncle the same age as herself with that last name.

I am researching my Byars ancestors. My grandfather was Willie Clifton Byars b 1907 in Dunklin county, MO. My gr-grandfather was James Almos Byars b 1873 in Graves county,KY. My gr-gr-grandfather was named David but I have no other information about him. James and his son Willie were buried in New Hope cemetery in Clay county Arkansas. I was quite shocked to find another Byars with the middle name of Almos. It is quite an unusual name. If you or anyone else has anymore information about these ancestors please contact me.
