Am looking for any info on the Godfrey Grosvenor family--lived in Ohio in the 1850's. My Great-grandfather, Benjamin Smith Grosvenor was one of their children and died a young man. Looking for info on the parents and possible siblings of B.S.Grosvenor(1848?-1884) He died in Elgin, IL. Born in Ohio??

Thank you Fran--this is probably my g-g-grandfather. Do you have any children listed for him? My g-grand would be Benjamin Smith (and he named his 2nd son John--possibly in honor of his father) This is the most info I've had so far--Much Thanks Diane Grosvenor

Thanks again for following up on Benjamin Smith G---he is still among the missing. Your message of 5/27/2000 lists Godfrey Malborne as born in 1723 died in l860--making him 137 years old-- and marrying Polly Tainter at age 75--wondering if it is a typo or are we missing a generation in there?
I need to check with my relative to see where she connected our g-grandfather with Godfrey of Geneva, NY. Her info may be faulty. Thanks for digging for me--Always fun to hear from far distant relatives--Have met people on-line from my maternal side living from coast to coast and bearing strong family resemblances even tho 7 generations removed from common relatives! Genetics works! Have a good week and let me know if we are missing someone in that time frame---Someday, Benjamin Smith will show up on a tree and we'll fill in his branch! Diane

John Grosvenor Website?

Read an old inquiry on this page and it listed a website with details of John Grosvenor's descendants, but when I typed in the address, it had moved or been deleted. Is there still such a site? is John Grosvenor the immigrant from England that started the "colonial" branch of the Grosvenors? My own grandfather was John F. Grosvenor, but he was born in Grays Lake, Il in 1875. Hope you don't mind my many inquiries..... Diane G
