My husband is a decendent of a German immigrant named Friedrick, Wilhelm, Andreas, Hohmann, they dropped the last "N" in time, all we know is he arrived in the port of Baltimore around the 2 day of October 1885 by the vessel Weimar from Bremen and he was from Kakerbeck, he didn't become a citizen until 1907, but I can't get any further back than his arrival date. he did reside in Kansas, i am not sure on the spelling but i think it was Erufioria, Kansas? any info would be helpful.

I am not sure if it is the same Fred Hohman. He lived in Kansas when the Declaration of Intention was signed, 1907, he was born in 1868 in Germany. He was married to Amy Beaver and that is about all I know for now. I do know on his paper his occupation was listed as a farmer. there is Forester in the family from MO, that was married in by one of Fred's sons. If any of this rings a bell let me know. Thanks

FRED HOHMAN(N)

Sorry if this is not the correct way in, I just wanted to let others know that there are Hohmanns in Canada. I was born in Galt Canada in 1961, son of John Jack Hohmann, born Galt Canada 1933 (deceased 1978), grandson of Joseph Hohmann born Germany 1908. My only son (Joseph John Hohmann, born 1984 in Kingston Canada is the last surviving Hohmann in our blood line in Canada.

Hi there. I was at a garage sale in BC canada and picked up a Bible that was from a Adam Hohmann to his daughter Dorah ,The year it was given to her was 1896. There is writing in German in the back and it looks like Adam was born Dec 1 1847. Do you think this Bible might belong to your family. I would like to give it back to the family of Adam Hohmann. Thank you for your time. Ps Written in the back says Ewing Holt Co,Nebraska.
