I am looking for any info. on my uncle Peter Francis Wilson I don't have much info. but here is what I do have. Peter born abt.1895-1900 had a brother named James Everett Wilson born abt. 1897. Mothers name was Bessie Koston-maiden name I heard they came from Poland but not sure. Peter was suppose to own his own fishing boat but died mysteriously as a result from a boating accident was suppose to be young when this happened perhaps in his late 20's or 30's not sure. Any info would help. Send to personal e-mail address.jtator13@msn.com

I am researching the Callaghan / Callahan family for my nephews. Their Greatgrandmother was Ruth Hugh as found in the census below with her family. I am wondering if this Isaac W. Hugh was a son or grandson of your Isaac Hugh b. in 1771. Their grandmother Ruth was the daughter of Julia who was single at the time of Ruth's birth.
Ruth Hugh married Vincent DePaul Callahan and had 13 children.
1900 Census, George, Fayette County PA:
Hugh, Isaac W., head, b. May 1845, age 55, Occ: day laborer
Ellen, wife, b. Oct. 1841, age 58
Julia A., daughter, b. Aug. 1876, age 23, single, bore 1 child still living
Alma L., daughter, b.Aprl 1878, age 22
Maggie, daughter, age, March 1891, age 9
Ruth A., granddaughter, b. Oct. 1898, age 1(Julia's daughter)
Falkenstein, Maud, border, age 23
Isaac and Ellen were married 26 yrs. Ellen bore two children both still living.
Everyone in the household with the exception of Ellen was born in Pa. Ellen was born in West Virginia.

Then later is the WWII Draft Registration of Vincent DePaul Callahan which contains the following information:
World War II Draft Registration:
Serial Number 3171, Vincent DePaul Callahan, resided at 212 N. Gallatin Uniontown, Fayette County, Pa. Mailing address, same.
Name of Person who will always know your address:
Ruth Alverda Callahan, wife
Employment: Fayette County Constable, Uniontown 2nd Ward, Uniontown, Pa
He was 5' 10" at 170 lbs. with grey eyes and brown hair.
/s/ V.D. Callahan

And finally, here it the obituary of Ruth Hugh Callahan:
Callahan, Ruth
Date: Feb 13 1975
Source: Cleveland Press; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #097.
Ruth Callahan (nee Hugh), beloved ife of the late Vincent D., dear mother of Vincent of Bedford, O., Betty Burns of Denver, Colo., Jack, Mary Lou Stefan, Gene, Bill, Richard, Adrian, Rose Fanara, Pauline Davis, Edward and Patrick, all of Cleveland, and Ruth Antidorml of Mascow, Pennsylvania., grandmother of 72, great-grandmother of 37. Funeral Mass Friday, Feb. 14, St. Justin Martyr Church at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at The New Monreal Co. Funeral Home Of Eastlake, 35400 Vine St. (Just East Of Rt. 91), Phone, 951-1220. Visitation 7-9 P.M. Wednesday, And 2-4 And 7-9 P.M. Thursday.
Could you please let me know if this Isaac W. Hugh is one of the 10 sons of your Isaac?

Hi, Debra, Right family!
Thank you for the information about Ruth having been the daughter of Julia. That certainly solves that puzzle.

This Isaac W. Hugh was the son of Moses Jefferson Hugh (1813-1870) and his wife Elizabeth Ann McCullough (1813-1875). From what I've been able to determine, they were the parents of at least 11 children and Isaac W. was the eldest.

Moses Jefferson Hugh was one of the ten sons of Isaac Hugh and Mary Ann Todd. And, Isaac Hugh was a son of Owen Hugh and Hannah Wynne who was the dau. Jonathan Wynne and Anne Warner, and that Jonathan Wynne was the son of Jonathan Wynne and Sarah Greaves, and that senior Jonathan was the son of Dr. Thomas Wynne, a Welsh Quaker, who was one of the first five purchasers of land from William Penn.

Do you know the maiden name of Ellen? I have hypothesized that it might have been Humphreys. Do you have a death date and location for Ellen? I have only the children Julia, Alma, and Maggie. Where was Ellen in 1910?

I'd be happy to share more with you off the list if you would like to write to me at jmwalsh@hughes.net.
Regards,
Jane

i am curious about the john mcknight you have listed. you say that his wife is hannah. any idea when this john mcknight was born and where. im looking for a john mcknight born in ireland, and married a german lass. his birth date i would assume is around 1770. they had a daughter named elizabeth "betsy" freeman(1793), and sons named thomas(1798), john(1801), william(1808), and possible henry(1789). they were living in bullskin twp.,Pa. in 1840. william married eliza herbert. her father may have been richard herbert, and also lived in bullskin.

I suspect that the Mary McKnight 73 who is in the 1860 Census of Georges Twp., Fayette, PA with Alfred and Evalina Kincell is the Mother of John McKnight who likely met Hannah Hugh in Georges Twp., Fayette, PA. In the 1850 Census, there is a Henry McKnight with wife Mary 61 in Dunbar, Fayette, PA. John McKnight and his wife Hannah Hugh later move to Dunbar, Fayette, PA by 1870. So, it looks likely that Henry McKnight is the Father of John McKnight. I have no proof.
