I was always told there was only one Molitor family. Our ancesters came from Germany. My greatgrandfather was Armond and he married Ozea Marie Manuel. They lived in Mamou, La. Any info on this part of the family?

WOW! Your posted message is the only one that mentions Louisiana. My GGGrandfather was Bernard's son. Joseph Molitor. If possible PLEASE reply with any info on that side of
my family. My Mom will really be surprised with this.
Thanks,
Teresa

I saw your Molitor post - a few years old now - if you are still doing research, I know some Molitors in Louisiana and am willing to share with you. timbroman@aol.com

I really would appreciate any info. I have only been able to go back on the molitor name w/ Bernard married to Louise McGee and burial in Ville Platte, La. I couldn't find any information on his family line.

Teresa - Drop me a line - The Molitors to whom I refer live in rural Evangeline Parish, a community referred to as "Spring Prairie" but with a Ville Platte rural route mailing address.

One of my Seiley cousins married a daughter of Melton (or maybe it was Milton) Molitor and they have several children. Although my cousin and Miss Molitor are no longer married she has remained close to our family. She still lives in the country near her mother and some of her children - Mr. Molitor is deceased.

I would prefer not to publish in this public forum any more detail on these folks who are still living as I do not have their permission. However, I am willing to assist in your research via one-on-one correspondence unless you are uncomfortable with that.

I seem to remember a post somewhere in this Molitor thread by Phyllis Reed - I am pretty sure she is an Evangeline Parish girl (Mamou or Ville Platte) and I'm thinking she might have identified herself as a Molitor cousin or a spouse of a Molitor cousin. I'm guessing she is aware of the Molitor family of Spring Prairie, and you may be able to get some leads from her as well.

Best regards, JKConner

Bernard Molitor is my gg grandfather. His daughter by his 2nd wife Adelaide Manuel Guillory is Rita Molitor. Rita Molitor married Joseph Elba Fusilier. My grandmother is Rita and Joseph's daughter, Theresa Fusilier Eaves. I am looking for family lines and stories. Please email and maybe we can share lines. I do have some information concerning Bernard's parents.

Robin - Our interest in the Molitor family developed as a result of our research into the John Jefferson Seiley line of Louisiana (mostly Allen, Evangeline & St Landry Parishes). A Seiley cousin of ours - John Desmond Seiley - married Anita Molitor, a daughter of Milton or Melton Molitor. Mr Molitor was a rice farmer and businessman in rural Evangeline Parish. We have located the old homeplace in Spring Prairie but the home is no longer there - it appears to have burned. Perhaps your Bernard Molitor was a brother or the father of Melton/Milton Molitor. Hmm.
