Growing up in Oklahoma I have been always told that I am related to Lucille Mulhall the performing cowgirl. Her father was Zack Mulhall he named Mulhall, Ok he was the first mayor. I know that my granfather was Andrew R Mulhall (5-10-1909), grandmother was Virginia Lee Alley Mulhall. My Grandfather's parents I also know, they were Great-Grandfather Timothy Mulhall born in Ireland, Great-Gradmother Margaret Mulhall also brn in Ireland. If anyone knows any information about any of these people, please e-mail me at dlj1@onenet.net. Thank you very much. Kimberley Mulhall-Jones

I know that we were told that we were related to the man who the town was named for. We grew up with the legend that our relative was friends with the president of the U.S.A at the time it was named so the contender in line lost. Our great, great, great etc. Grandfather Thomas Mulhall came from Ireland via PA. Our family moved across Kentucky, Illinois with our clan ending up in Iowa.

I don't know very much about the Mulhall side of my family. My grandfather's name was Donald Mulhall Sr. I know he lived a good part of his life in the coal regions Mahanoy City area and also had family in Pittsburg. He died in Quakertown, PA in 1962 or 63.

I recently learned that my grandfather's mother was a Mulhall and his father's last name was Nolan. I found him in the 1910 PA census. His grandmothers name listed was Mary Close 56- head of household; son John Mulhall 38; dau Sadie 28; grandson Donald Nolan 14 (my grandfather); and another grandson Leo Mulhall age 7 who I am told eventually became mayor of Shenandoah, PA.
I don't know when my grandfather changed his name to Mulhall. I also don't know what his mothers name was. I have heard that his father (Nolan) was possibly a General in the US Army and worked in Washington DC. If anyone has any information I would apprieciate it. My email is shixie@msn.com or mulhalls@usa.net

I just saw your message. I, too, am related to the great Lucille Mulhall. Her Father's name was Zack Mulhall. Mulhall, OK was named after them -- from my research they owned approx. 80K acres in that area. Yes, it was President Teddy Roosevelt who was friends with and frequent guests of the Mulhall family at their ranch. Col. Zack (an honorary title, I'm told) was a fellow "Rough Rider" with T.R.
I was able to obtain a lot of valuable information, newspaper articles, photos and such from the archives of the Natl. Cowboy Hall of Fame in OKC. (I was in the basement archives when the tornado went through Moore a couple of years ago.) I also have several "cowgirl" books which make reference to and/or have photos.
From my research, the Mulhalls had a 'rodeo show' and 'rodeo ranch' like the Miller 101. The Mulhalls were Grand Marshalls in the inaugurational parade, if not twice, for T.R. -- once when he was Vice. Lucille was a friend of Will Rogers and Geronimo. There is even a tale that Lucille roped a coyote running wild on their ranch and it impressed T.R. so much he had it sent back to Washington, D.C. and as the story goes, it was stuffed, mounted and put in the White House.
I would like to here from you. Please e-mail me.

I am Col. Zach Mulhall's great great great grand daughter. My great great grandmother was Mildred Mulhall Carmichael and my great grandmother is Virginia Carmichael Pennington, making Lucille my great great aunt. I know a lot about the Mulhall family history due to the fact that my great grandmother is in her 90s and full of wonderful information. It is really an exciting history!

From the 1970's until her death, aged 96 years, in the 1990's I corresponded with Mrs Stella Craven who lived all her life in Mulhall, OK. She was in the same class at school as Lucille Mulhall and had pleasant memories of Lucille and her Mulhall family. I have a gift book, "History of Mulhall, Oklahoma 100 Yesteryears" by Kathryn and Max Stansbury, which makes fascinationg reading.

I have no evidence to indicate I am related to Zach Mulhall's family.

My gggrandfather was Michael Mulhall of Dublin circa 1830, possibly Whitefriar St, who married Catherine Rogers of London. His son Joseph Michael b1836 came to Brisbane, Australia in 1861 and married Sophia Lawrence in 1863. They eventually settled in Warwick Queensland and produced 10 children. I will be most interested to correspond with anyone who has information re my forebears, particularly those in Ireland. I believe my Mulhalls originally were from County Laois [Leix]. Surnames: MULHULL HENSLEE
My Great grandfather William S Henslee from Amarillo T worked and traveled with with the Mulhall ranch and rodeo show. According to a Newspaper article (Amarillo TX) relating to Lucille's death, my grandfather was interviewed and stated she was his "best friend" and that he had taught her how to ride a horse when she was 13. My grandfather was a well known rodeo cowboy but I am having a hard time finding him in any Oklahoma records...If anyone has a list of employees of the Mulhall ranch prior to 1898 (when he left Oklahoma) I would be greatly appreciative!
