My family descent is from Emanuel van de Kerkhove and Maria Jacoba De Roo (Belgium) -> Bernardus van de Kerkhove and Joanna Francisca De Lange (Lembeke, Belgium) -> Johannes Bernardus (John Bernard) Van de Kerkhove and Margaret Ann Dorsch (Lembeke, Belgium and Iowa Co., Iowa US) -> John Michael Van Dee Kerkhove and Emma George (Iowa Co., Iowa) -> Augustus Joesph Van Dee
and Margaret Mary Holderness (Iowa Co., Iowa) -> Robert Paul Mahan and Ida Matilda Van Dee (Iowa Co., Iowa) -> Robert (Me). Any connection?

Bob

I was born in Linn County Iowa but my mother grandfather and grandmother were all born in Iowa County Iowa. My grandfather was Augustine Joseph Van Dee. It is likely that we are related since my grandfather had a number of bothers all in Iowa County.

Very likely we are related on either the Van Dee or the Holderness side. My maternal grandfather was Augustine VanDee and grandmother was Margaret Holderness. I have quite a bit of information on both the Holderness and VanDee families. I can't remember my grandmother's fathers first name unless I dig out my data, but it began with A and her mother was Carrie Rowe.
