Albert V. Shatinsky

Mr. Albert V. Shatinsky, age 80, of 4852 state Route 367, Laceyville, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, Nov. 11, 2011 at the Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, Pa., after a lingering illness. He was born in Pittston, Pa., on Dec. 27, 1930, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Kizavich Shatinsky. Albert's early life was spent growing up in the West Auburn area. His entire life was spent in or near Laceyville. Albert started working for the Laceyville Agway, and worked there for 12 years. For the next 40 years, was spent driving truck, being an owner operator, hauling milk for most of those years, into New York City and into New Jersey. He also hauled logs for years, throughout northeastern Pa. Being a very hard worker, and being on the road for many years, spare time was hard to come by, but when he was able, he enjoyed the outdoors, where he loved to garden, hunt and fish, or just spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, the former Jenora B. Brown Shatinsky, whom he married on Sept. 5, 1953. He is also survived by his son Bradley A. Shatinsky of Laceyville, Pa., and a sister and her husband, Theresa and Tom Ross of Dimock, Pa.; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Bernard Shatinsky and Joseph Shatinsky. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville, Pa., with his long time friend, Pastor James Wentz officiating. Interment will be in the Lacey Street Cemetery, in Laceyville, Pa. Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. Tuesdzy at the funeral home until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice .
