Hello!

I am searching for information about a Rose Delima Lauzon who married Alfred Letourneau. Rose had family on Wapole Island and my grandfather Emile Letourneau stayed with relatives on the Island sometime between 1910 and 1920.

Also, any information on the Letourneau family in Kent County would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can get a lot of information at the Chatham-Kent Public Library if you live close. I was able to find the following: Alfred Létourneau married Délima Lozon on 20 September 1897 in Grande Pointe, ON. He was the son of Solomon Létourneau and Hélène Chevalier, he was from Pointe-aux-Roches, ON. She was the daughter of Jean-Baptiste Lozon and Emélie Tétreault. I also know when they died if you want to know. You can email me at: difleurdelys@yahoo.ca.

Notice you had Wapole Island. Don't know if it was a type error or what? However it is known as Walpole Island. You may also want to check the historical society in Wallaceburg, Ontario.

I am curious since I'm having trouble getting past my ggrandfather, Jerome Letourneau b 1820 in Canada. Has this name come up in any of your research? He married Victoire Arpin who was b 1827 in St Ours, Richelieu, QUE d. 1903 in Centerville, MN. Jerome apparently is the problem. We have no relatives - no siblings, no parents. He is buried also in Centerville d. 1910. - so far all my contacts tell me about a Jerome who married a Louise Pelletier but its the wrong one unless it's a cousin. Let me know if you can help...carol

Hi Marc, my name is Pauline Alice Schurman. My mother was Pauline Anne Letourneau. She was born September 5, 1938 and died on May 10, 1981. I know you have written to my Aunt Diane Milling nee Letuorneau and since it's been a while I was wondering if you have any info you could share. I am going to Walpole Island on Monday to the Heritage Centre and I also will be getting help from the Elders there to do my researsh. They have asked if we know any other names or nic names they might have gone by. Also, were they farmers or fishers, or any type of occupation they may have had. If you are interested please let me know. Regards, Pauline
