Maybe you can provide more information on Cornelius and Jacoba?
I can find a Cornelis de Haas who was 25 in 1898 and born in Hilversum, but he married Petronella Cornelia van Kesteren (found on Genlias, http://www.genlias.nl/ ). Could he be the one you're looking for?

My Cornelius has 3 children that I know about....Max, Cornelia, and Judith. My info tells me that maybe Cornelius did NOT come to America. I know that Max did. Soooooooooooooo I'm not sure the one you found is my Cornelius or not. I need to find some additional info on Max before I go further. Thanks for your info!! J

Maximiliaan de Haas, age 19, enters the US via Ellis Island 28 July 1923 on his way to Detroit, Michigan. Is that your Max? His father is listed as C.J. de Haas, with an Amsterdam address. Maximiliaan's birth place is Amsterdam. So maybe you should be looking in Amsterdam?

I find on http://gemeentearchief.amsterdam.nl/archieven/genealogie/gez... 8 families C.J. de Haas. As Max is born in 1903 or 1904 there are only 2 of this list that migth be his father. All the others are too young. I will have a look at these 2 to see which 1 is the right one.

This afternoon I looked at the Amsterdam archive on the familycard of Maximilaan de Haas born 16-1-1904. During a short time period he left his parents, but returned later to them. After returning there he went to according to the familycard of his father on July 4, 1924 to Detroit in Amerika. His father is Cornelis Johannes de Haas, born on June 20, 1869. His moteher is Jacoba Hendrika Schalm, born June 6, 1876. There are 5 childern listed:
Cornelia Johanna de Haas, born in 1896.
Jacoba Hendrika de Haas, born September 9, 1897.
Maximilaan de Haas, see above.
Judith de Haas, born August 8, 1909.

My grandmother's name was CorneliaJohanna de Haas. Her married name was van den Bosch. Oma had two sisters. One named Jacoba (tante Coba) and another named tante Judith. She may have had another sister named Sonja, but I'm not aware of that. I can check with my aunt who is the last surviving child of Cornelia Johanna van den Bosch (nee de Haas). One thing i am sure of is that my grandmother had a brother Max (oom Max) , who lived in the States, because he came to visit us when we first immigrated to Canada in 1954.
