1900 census shows this couple on Memphis Street. Sarah's parents were Irish immigrants, but she was born in Phila. June 1851. Mother of 12 children, 10 living, 7 still at home. Would like information on parents or siblings.

Were any of your Carroll's from County Ofally, particularly Rahan/Tullamore Ireland originally? I have a number of Carroll relatives with similar first names from that area, that migrated to Trenton, NJ in early 1900's. Just wondering if there is any connection.

Thanks.

Maryann

I don't know from where in Ireland my Carroll family came. Father is Jos C. or Jas C marrried to Mary A. Children include Francis C. (1844), Margaret (1846 and married Eugene Sullivan), William (1848) all in Connecticutt. Then Sarah (1851), Mary (1857), and Mary E. in Pennsylvania- probably Philadelphia. The 1850 census puts this household in the Spring Garden section of Philly. Does anything sound familiar?

Hi, I know this thread is old, but,--- I do have Carroll's from Rahan and Tullamore in my tree. John Carroll christened 1814 Rahan RC. married Sally Coghlan christened 1814 Rahan. First child to John and Sally christened in Eglish, 1833.Thomas--2nd child James Peter born 1837 Tullamore and 3rd John born 1841 Tullamore. James Peter is by gggrandfather. Am interested to know if there is a connection. Do not know who John's parents were for sure, possibly possibly Patrick Carroll and C. Deegan. Hope there is a connection. Sandy:)

Good morning. I regret to say that I have found very little on the Carroll branch of my family, whether tracking backward or forward. I will check your names and dates against mine and see if anything lines up. Sandy (SJPrince09@att.net)

Good morning again. The first CARROLL I have on record is Joseph C. who was born in Ireland sometime between 1814 and 1822; records found in the States do not allow me to narrow this down. Whether he married Mary in Ireland or in Connecticut has not been proven. (Mary's surname of Moran was taken as a possibility from someone else's research and has not been confirmed or denied.) Joseph and Mary's first recorded child Francis was born about 1844 in Connecticut and their last Mary E. in Philadelphia in 1861. I am still looking for immigration records on Joseph. As you can see, I have no confirmed connection to a particular place in Ireland. I wish, I wish, I wish I could see some definite connection, but I think those missing immigration papers are essential.
