Is anyone able to point me in the direction of finding out the history of "Jessel House", Page Street, Westminster, 1894. I had a relative residing/ working there as a non-domestic Groom, name John WAINWRIGHT.
Thankyou,
Leanne

I had a great-grandfather John Wainwright, one of several generations of horse-dealers in Westminster . His youngest son John (my grandfather) was born at 27 Jessel House, Page Street in 1907. I believe this house belonged to one of many Peabody Trust estates in London, which many of the Wainwrights have since continued to live in. To gain an idea of what the area would have been like back then and where the street was, visit the Booth Poverty Map of London of the 1890s. I hope this helps.
