I have found an Elijah Stephens listed on the Indian Territory 1860 Yell County Arkansas Census in Going Snake District. The same Elijah Stephens is listed on the Dawes Roll #108 in Park Hill Oklahoma Going Snake District as intermarried white.

I have two questions: Did Going Snake District of Oklahoma extend into Arkansas before statehood? And does anyone with a copy of the Dawes Roll able to tell me who Elijah was married to and thier childrens names?

Ok a third question: Does anyone know of an Elijah or Alvis Stephens in Cherokee County Oklahoma in the early 1940's?

Question #2

I read the 1860 Census wrong. The 1860 Indian Territory Oklahoma Census is on the bottom of the Federal Yell County Arkansas Census. Your right.

Thanks for the info. Im still lost. Im looking for Alvis Stephens born around 1915 in either Oklahoma or Arkansas. His father was born in Oklahoma Indian Territory and was adopted by a family named Stephens. I don't know when or where and I don't even know his name. So I am trying to find anyone surnamed Stephens that had a son born around 1915 named Alvis. Any info you have as to children of these people would be helpfull.

I am looking primarily for information on Henry and Lela Wise, and their son Luster.
Also, I am looking for further information on Charlie and Emma Stephens, circa 1860-1880.
