I started my genealogy of my grandfathers site. His father was Gerard Schotborgh Daal -Schotborgh(mothers name) married to Hendrina de Haseth-Gorsira(mothers name) Any one who are tracing this family too? Maybe we can help each other. Thanks

My great grandfather was Mathias Daal. His father was Gerard Schotborough Daal and his mother was Hendrina de Haseth. I don't have the birth or death dates for either of them. But, Mathias Daal was born July 21, 1866 and died July 21 1951. He had five children, one of whom is my grandmother ....on my mother's side...Rosalinda Juliana Daal... with Euphrosina Confessor Troeman. Mathias, called Pachi by his family, didn't marry Euphrosina until their children were adults.

I also have the names of Gerard Schotborough Daal's parents. They were Gerard Matin Daal and Anna Maria Schotborough

in order to find the birth of your grand father, would need a date, your father would know. Bonaire and Curaçao can than be searched.

My great-grandfather, Alberto Schotborgh "Mateii" came to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from Curacao end of XIX century or beginning of XX century. I’m not sure of the spelling of the second last name. My grandmother just pronounces it like that. I know some relatives stayed at Curacao. Some sister came on vacation on 1950 to the Dominican Republic from Curacao.

I’m looking for the relatives in Curacao.

Hi Jeanine, My maternal grandfather was Harry Gorsira, from Curacao. I, too, am trying to find out as much as I
can about them. There is a Richard Gorsira who lives near me who is related. His Father and my Grandfather were brothers. The Gorsira family was very well known in the early l900's I found out. They owned a plantation and more.
I am going to Curacao in a couple of months on a cruise and
hope to find out more (only one day to do so). Do you know
