I am looking for more information about the family of William SCHOLES and Ann MILLS who came to Marquette Co. from England in 1849. They had a son Samuel born in Moundville 10 Aug 1849; he married Harriet MOZLEY. I am interested in finding other descendants of this family. Thank you!

I don't know if there is a link but I have a Ann Mills on the 1871 census who was the daughter of Peggy Jackson, later who became scholes.

Hi Robin. It's over 10 years since you posted this, but I am descended from William Scholes and Ann Mills through their daughter Sarah Ann Scholes Hume. I have a photograph of three of the Scholes sisters and can only guess which one is my ancestor.

I am currently trying to find more information about William's service in the Civil War.
