I am desperately trying to find info on Silas Davis b. about 1800, married Johanna Schoonhoven Van der Mark in eastern Ohio about 1820. The lived near Gettysburg, Ohio at the time of their deaths (1837 and 1839 of cholera, 5 children also died of cholera). I have not been able to find proof of whether they were in Darke or Preble county. Their son Henry and some of his siblings moved into Indiana after the parents death. Is anyone able to help?!

Would you happen to know which part of Indiana their children moved to after their deaths? I have a Hiram W. Davis who was born in OH and moved to Bartholomew Co, IN . He was born abt. 1820. I have unable to figure out who his parents or siblings are. In 1855 Hiram and his family moved to Iowa.
Does any of this sould familiar?

Hi,
I have Davis' in Washington county Ohio who came there from Massacheuts and North Hampshire. I'll look back and see if there was a Silas from any siblings of my Dudley Davis.
I also have a Davis married to a Schoonover. My Schoonovers moved acrossed the border of West Virginia to Ohio. Was your Johanna's maiden name Van Der Mark or was she a Schoonover?
I'm also very interested in your last name Henke as I am trying to find the origin of my G-G-G grandfather John H. Henneke. Maybe it's mispelled on my G-G grandmothers marriage license. My Henneke was married three time and lived in Ripley county Indiana. I'm searching for his marriage to Maria Geesey, mother of my Mary E. Henneke.
Email me at reann@rocketmail.com maybe we can connect these families. Reann

Do you have any information on if Silas owned any slaves or if he had any connection to Azariah Davis who later lived in what is now Todd County, KY. I am trying to help someone place his slave ancestor whose name was Silas Davis spelled the same way. He has been told that Silas was with a Davis and then moved to another family in Todd named Phillips out of Bourbon County who also settled in Todd County. We are trying to place which Davis line. We have some suspicions of another Davis family but had to ask with the same name. Any info would be helpful
