John and Azor COLE of Homer, Cortland Co. Does anyone have any info on these two men or their father, Azor COLE? Their father served in the Revolutionary War. John served in the War of 1812. He married Betsy McNish and raised a large family of whom two sons were named William Alburtis COLE (b. 1832 Cortland Co.) and James H. COLE (b. 1834) who both died in Sharon Center, Potter Co., PA, and two sons, Harrison De Loss COLE and Azor Leroy COLE who were both still living in Cortland Co. in 1885. Any information about these men or Betsy McNish and her family would be most appreciated. Both the names John and Azor appear as heads of households in the 1820 census for Homer, as does the name John McNeash.

John C Cole is buried in Sharon Township, Potter, PA. Along with his wife and a couple of the children. Check out the paintedhillsgenealogicalsociety.com There is some info there. He died in PA after moving there late in life. He was actually married three times. His first two wives are in south Cortland cemetery. His last, Lydia is buried In the same one as he is in PA. I was researching his line for a while thinking he was my ancestor. Still unsure. You can find some info on his son Azor Leroy in some books on Ancestry. Just google Azor Cole.
