POINT ACONI, Cape Breton - Gordon Gerard MacLean, 16, of Point Aconi died Wednesday, June 1, 1983 as a result of a highway accident on the South Haven Highway. Born in Point Aconi, he was a son of James and Liona MacLean. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Bras d'Or.
Surviving, besides his parents, are nine brothers, Douglas and Joseph, both of Florences; Terry, Manitoba; Brian, on Great Lake boats; Bruce, Grande Cache, Alta.; Leonard, Roy, Gary and Russell, all of Point Aconi; a sister Patsy, St. Catharines, Ont.; paternal grandmother, Sarah MacLean, Point Aconi; a step-grand-mother, Blanche Levionnois, Westmouth.
The body is in G.R. Francis and Son Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, in St. Joseph's Church, with burial in the parish cemetery.

Gordan was actually my uncle, although i never got the chance to meet him, i still think of him all the time. My parents named my older brother after him who was born a year after he passed.
