Researching the descendants of Christopher Adler who married Anna Clier, in Germantown, Washington County, Wisconsin in abt 1855, all of their children were born on a farm there. Most of this family moved to Marshfield, Wis. in 1882. Anna was married before she married Christopher, would like to know to whom, that union did produced a son, Joe Clier, born January 15, 1854. Looking for information on Christopher and Anna's daughter Catherine, who died in Marshfield and was married to Christ Wier, they lived in Chicago and also, on their son John J., died 1951 who married Theresa Hartl, died 1943. I'm also trying to discover how Christopher might be related to David and George Adler, all three having purchased land on February 1, 1848 at the Milwaukee Land office. Looking also on information the Kiesling Family, a John Kiesling married Catherine Wierl abt 1881, would like to know more about John's Family.

My name is Carol Mayer-I am researching the family of George Wierl. George Sr. was married to Theresa Klier Adler and they lived in Goldendale (near Germantown). How many children they had we do not know. We have tracked 4 at this time. They had a son -George Jr. who married Magdalen Burg. They were my Great Grandparents. Anton Kiesling is related but the exact relation has not yet been determined.

Hi, Carol,

Mike Wierl, one of the sons of Georg Wierl Jr. and Magdalena Burg, married my grandpa Nic Gebhard's younger sister Cecelia Gebhard in 1920:

http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~scheimann/gebhard/

I have nine children recorded for Georg Sr. and Theresa:
Barbara (Apr 11, 1857 - Aug 11,1858)

Georg Jr. (June 4, 1869 - Sept 25, 1941)

Anna (Sept 11, 1861 -

Catherine (Jan 1, 1865 -
Catherine married John Kiesling, and Anton is their oldest
son.

Clara (Apr 8, 1867 - Dec 10, 1946), married William Stuettgen

John Evangelist (Nov 8, 1869 - June 5, 1903) He was married.

Frederick Christopher (Oct 31, 1871 - June 5, 1908), married Anna Maria Graef Jan 10, 1905. Anna Maria is the daughter of Christina Gebhard and Herman Joseph Graef, and Christina is my grandpa Nic Gebhard's aunt, so that is a second tie to the Gebhard family. After Frederick died Anna Maria married John Lehn.

Christoph, listed as born 1874 in the 1880 census

Mary, listed as born 1877, 1880 census.

Some of the records for this family are at St. Boniface Catholic parish in Germantown, at Goldendale Crossroads, originally called Goldenthal.

Georg and Magdalena had 12 children as I have them listed.

I'd be happy to share more information if you are interested, and I will also forward back to this board any replies from the Washington Co. Mail List.

I have alot of information on the Klier Family and the Wierl's, they are closley related to the Adler's through several marriages, I believe that Theresa Klier was the daughter of Martin Klier not Joseph. Martin had five known daughters.
It is not known who the father of Anton Kiesling is, we will probably never know, he was baptised at St. Boniface Church as Anton Wierl. He was my great uncle. Anton was raised by his grandparents George Wierl and his wife Theresa. Anton took the name of Kiesling when Catharina Wierl married John Kiesling, They had eight more children. When Catharina died after the birth of the last child. John left his children homeless, and returned to Germany.
Anton married Mary Rose Hoffmann, daughter of Theresa Adler and Joseph Hoffmann [my great grandparents], and the granddaughter of Anna Klier and Chris Adler. T
Anna had a son Joseph "Clear", [again, father unknown]whom she had before her marriage to Chris Adler.
Joseph "Clear" is recorded as the father on Anna' death cert., also. The information was supplied by Angela Adler, a daughter of Magdalena Klier-Engmann [another sister].
Have just recently received information on more of the Weirl's, from the estate of Helen Luedtke, a daughter of Anton Kiesling. Helen's husband had a brother, Carl. Carl married Frances Wierl, the daughter of George Wierl and Magdalena Burg.
I had found the graves of a Chris and Anna "Wirl", along with a daughter, at Hillside cemetery, in Marshfield. I have every reason to beleive them to our "Wierl's", because of the info I just received, the couple had another daughter and son.

Hi, Cindy,

A couple quick questions to straighten out my own files: was Christoph Adler, who married Anna Klier in 1856 at St. Boniface, first married to Margaretha Kramer (died Aug 29, 1856, buried St. Boniface September 1)? Adter Christoph died in 1890, did Anna marry again (George Joseph Lofy, West Bend, Sept 22, 1896?) Or is this a different Anna?

Did Catherine Adler, daughter of Christoph and Anna, marry a Christ Wierl? I've got a note for this, unsourced, showing 2 children of such a marriage, George and Catherine, no dates other than Catherine Adler born Feb 1858, baptized St. Boniface Feb 25, 1858). Could that be the Chris and "Anna" buried in Marshfield?

Frederick Andrew Doll and wife Aurelia Gundrum from my grandmother's Gundrum line also moved to Marshfield about 1882.

Hello Linda,

Christopher Adler 1815-1890, married Maria Margaretha Kraemer 1821-1856 and is buried at St. Boniface Church cemetery, on 2/28/1856, in Doerrbach, Rhienland, Prussia. Magaret died after a farming accident. Christopher then married Anna Klier 1835-1921, on 12/2/1856 at St. Boniface Church. Christopher died in the City of Marshfied, Wi.. Anna married for a third time to George Joseph Lofy, on 9/22/1896 in West Bend, Wi., both died in Marshfield.
Christopher and Anna's daughter, Catherine, married Gustave A Wier, on 8/22/1885, in Chicago, Ill. He was a policeman in that city, after his death and that of her two children, the oldest being 4 yrs, Catherine moved back to Marshfield. Katie, as she was known never remarried and is buried in Marshfield. I still do not have her death date nor that of her family. I have to research that more, it's something I have overlooked. I will get back to you on it when I do.

I have a correction to make!
Margaret Kreamer-Adler died on 8/29/1856. She was buried on 9/1/1856, in St. Boniface Church Cemetery. A source for the information was from the book, St. Boniface Catholic Church, Goldendale [Germantown], Wisconsin, Genealogical Records 1843-2000, by John Von Haden, deaths #2515. Family information also, indicated where she was buried.

Margaret married Chris Adler on 2/28/1843, in Doerrbach, Rhienland.
