My gr-grandfather was Carl Barnick, b. abt 1834. His wife was Johanna or Anna Pauleask, b. abt 1832 (can't find this surname on any search engine). From obituaries and US census records I have learned they came to Saginaw, Michigan in 1872. I would like to find where they came form in Germany plus any more ancestors and extended family. Their children were Wilhelmina, Augusta, Lena, Mary, August, Christian, and Frank. Carl was brick mason in 1880 Saginaw. Have no record of where or when he and Anna died.

I know that my fathers great grandparents were from somewhere in Germany.

I want to do a family tree however I do not know where to start.

I have a John C. Barnick, born January 1899 in Detroit, Michigan. His father however was Christian Barnick from Pomerania, Germany and then Saginaw, MI. John C. had a son Johnny. John C. was one of 11 children. Christian is my gr-grandmothers brother.

My father's name is Gary Miles Barnick, as mine is Jacob Miles Barnick, and my brother is Joshua Michael Barnick. My father had a brother named Michael Barnick. This mean anything?
