Birthplace of my greatgrandmother unknown, birth date estimated in 1874 died 1975. She lived around Douglas AZ, Silver City(?) New Mexico during the 30s, 40s maybe 50s. She died in San Pedro California. She was part Yaqui and remembered pouring hot grease on Apaches who were attacking a fort. Her father may have been French, at least that's what I remember my mother saying. Or maybe the Galaz she married may be the French ancestor.????
She had a daughter named Juanita ( Becerra), Herminio, Refugio, and probably a s

ister named Manuela all
living or lived in Douglas, Bisbee Arizona. There may have been a brother but unfortunately, we did not keep up with any of the family history.
Oh, I understand that some woman may have written a book based on her life.
I will appreciate any info and looking forward for any replies on this messageboard.

Boy have I made some goofs on 10/12/00 message. Thanks to Carol, I know my great-grandmother's parents.
My great-grandfather was not the French ancestor, this was my grandfather at least part French. My ggfather was Mayan or part Mayan.
Juanita was the one who had Herminio, Refugio etc.
There was no book because there was no agreement with ggmother's relative.
Sorry about the wrong data.

I have been working on my Bracamonte line and ended with a great, great, grandfather, Perfecto Bracamonte. He was born about 1866 and lived in Texas and Arizona with my gg grandmother Ma. Juana Conception Acedo from Tucson, Sonora Mexico (now Tucson, Az). She was known as Juana Bracamonte.

We also have the story in our family that Perfecto was french and that he and his kin were part of an army that came from France during the 1800's. In this army were French and Jewish Soldiers who came and settled in Arizona.

Do you have the date that your Perfecto was born and where. I am wondering if he, his siblings and parents are possible family members.

Thank you,
