looking for information on William H. McGarvey who was a corporal with the 23rd PA volunteers, company F. His wife Elizabeth Owens and daughter Jane (?) McGarvey. Died in Philadelphia about 1890. Looking for a burial location for company F's records. Any help would be appreciated.

My McGarvey's were buried in Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia (A27, Grave 3).

We have names in common like William and Jane.
I only have a birthdate for my William, Abt. 1854, based upon the 1860 Census (19th Ward, Philadelphia County, p. 866).

Thanks for the reply, I'll check into that.

I'm afraid I'm of no relation, the 23rd re-enactment group is finding the veterans and caring for their graves.

I'll let you know if I'm successful.

Hi Tammy, I believe that your William is listed in Latter day saints. Go to www.familysearch.org and click on Search.
type in William McGarvey . Don't put in middle name . Leave everything else alone and you will see a large bunch of McGarvey's . The second William in the list may be yours. Good luck. Gwyn
