Looking for any information that will lead me to a Ruth Taber b. abt. 1748 in Nine Partners, New York. Her father was Peleg Taber and mother was Hannah Taber.
Siblings were Gershon Taber, William Taber, Philip Taber, John Taber, Elizabeth Taber, Meribah Taber, Susanna Taber and Phebe Taber. If anyone can make a connection to any of these people I sure would like to hear from you. Thankyou in advance,
Sandi

Didn't Peleg and Hannah also have a daughter named Roba?

Yes, Peleg and Hannah had a daughter Roba, she married a Jacob Powers. She was born in 1763 near Leedsville, Amenia, NY. She died May 09, 1804 also in Amenia. Roba and Jacob had 10 children. Hope this helps, if you need more on the children I have a little bit of info.

Thanks, Sandra. If you could just confirm for me that Jacob and Roba had a daughter named Catherine, that should do it for now.

Do you know if any of these Taber boys or their sons made it to Philadelphia in the late 1700-early 1800s?
Also, I just found that Peleg Taber's parents were Jonathan Taber and Roba or Roby Brown.

I am researching the Tabers of Philadelphia right now. What I have found is:
William E. Taber b. 1823 NJ (FA:NY, MO:NJ)
(William is living with Thomas and Delia Marsh as bro. In law to Thomas in 1880. He was probably married to Thomas Marsh’s sister)

There's a chance William is the son of John M. Taber and Mary H. Newkirk. Mary is from Salem Co., NJ. I still don't know where John M. is from. John died in 1828 but he had a son that fills into the time frame for your William. Here's the information we have on John:
John M. Taber b. 28 Mar 1791 d.2 Sep 1828
+ Mary H. Newkirk b. Salem Co. NJ.
Son b. betw. 1810-1820
Son b. betw 1820-1825
Dau. b. betw. 1810-1820
Dau. b. betw. 1804-1810
Dau. b. betw. 1810-1820
Dau. b. betw. 1825-1828
We think John might be the father of my Elizabeth Taber Baker. She was born between 1800-1810.

Could you please add any more information you might have on William E and Amanda? Where did they go, did they have children, etc.
I also have this guy:
John C. Taber b. 1819 New Jersey
+ Amanda b. 1822 Pennsylvania
William b. 1841 Pennsylvania
Mary b. 1843 Pennsylvania
John b. 1846 Pennsylvania
Amanda b. 1851 Pennsylvania
+ ? Stewart
Edwin Stewart
Clinton Stewart
Walter Stewart
Caroline “Carrie” b. 1854 Pennsylvania
He might be your elder William's elder brother. The ages are right and they follow the ages of John M. Taber's sons. I point him out because his wife is named Amanda and sometimes they named their children after god-parents. Maybe his wife was your Amanda's godmother.

We found the following information on William E. Taber. I'm passing it along. He very strongly looks to be the son of John M. Taber and Mary H. Newkirk (from Salem Co., NJ). If the infromation on John and Mary is correct, William E.'s siblings are: John C., Elizabeth (Baker), Delia (Marsh), Mary (Allman), and an unknown sister.
