Looking for any information on Annie Maguire / Bernasconi who was in the Charters Towers district at the end of the 1800's and early 1900's. She became Bernasconi in the early 1900's and moved to Brisbane, passed away in 1940 and is buried in the Nudgee cemetary. Children included Gladys, Louis Sydney, John, Arthur, Herbert and Debora. Any information on her and also a Arthur Evan Williams who was also in the Towers area in the late 1800's would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for that. I believe Arthur was my great grandfather and would like to obtain as much info on Annie as possible and would also like to get some info on a Arthur Evan Williams who is on Deboras birth certificate as her father and who is most probably Arthurs father as well but not on his certificate. He was an engine driver from Wales and approximately 29 years of age when Debora was born but has disappeared from all records.
Once again thank you.

Annie McGuire/Bernasconi was my great grandmother. All children of Annie died without genetic children. Gladys Bernasconi was my grandmother. I remember Deb McGuire and Gladys younger sister by Bernasconi -Evelyn. The boys were in merchant navy. I think John drowned young. All were childless. Arthur married a widow with 2children and moved south. Gladys adopted my mother(who we believe to be fathered by my grandfather John O'connor )

Re: "Arthur married a widow with 2 children and moved south."

I am not related but this seems unlikely. Arthur Evan MAGUIRE married Ada Florence STUBBINGS in 1916. Ada was born in 1897 so was only aged 19 and I cannot see a previous marriage or children for her. They lived at Richmond in Queensland until Arthur's death in 1952.

They had at least one child, Herbert James, in 1916.

This article confirms that Annie believed Evan WILLIAMS was the father of Arthur:

Arthur I believe is Son to Annie Maguire but is he John Arthur? or Arthur John? Because no mention of Arthur in this death notice- but it was her son Bill who died sorry not John who I was talking about. They would be my mums cousins -but as far as she is concerned she had no cousins- I will ask her if it is possible.
My Grandmother(Gladys) used to talk about Sid, Bill and John. I personally knew Eileen Deb and Evelyn, but never met the boys. I have many photos of them.
Sid is remembered in the Anzac Memorial at Charters Towers. He was living in Carter St or Perry St at Kangaroo Point when he joined the Army and was released due to medical conditions. I have photos of him in his military uniform too.
I agree with the detail As seen above from Millipop

okay a bit of confusion here on my behalf I think...... I went back to photos. My Grandmother made notes (and I vaguely remember and I asked Deb and Bebbie (Evelyn) when I was very young too, I don't have the 'facts' just the recollection of discussion from great aunts and grandma and mum. I know stuff like Annie Maguire family came from Ireland and bought a shamrock dinner set which was the family prize possession, and I have all the family pics from my Grandma (Gladys).
Sid married Lottie who had 2 sons already.
Bill as we know it died in the Burdekin River. We think he was Annie's youngest by Bernasconi, Though not Williams/Maguire as you called them- so papers might have it wrong.
Maybe Bill is nicknamed Herbert ? but the dates are confusing??? Your information says 1903, but the Requiescat in pace was in 1934 31 years later? must be 1903 because if Bernasconi married Annie in late 1890s and Bill was 10 when he dies, Bill is a Bernasconi. Bernasconi dies in 1908 and he is mentioned in the article????Maybe it was a memorial requim mass not a funeral????And no mention of Arthur in the requiem. Arthur is mentioned elsewhere though so not sure?
Picture attached recoreded in my grandmothers handwriting on the back.
John , Syd , Gladys , Annie (MUM) , Bill , Deb , Evelyn .
