I know who he married and his children and their children, but have never been able to locate who his parents were.

I show the following information in my file:

Phillip Dozier born 1/4/1787 in Currituck, NC
Died 3/31/1855 in Gibson, TN

Spouse Mary Lamb b 1815 in Williamson Co TN d 1860 (also have date of death as 1841)

Children: Closy (female no DOB)
Peter L b 4/16/1808 d 3/7/1855 Gibson TN
William L b 1812 in NC d 1885 in TN
Penelope b 1814 NC d 1880 Currituck NC
Annie b 1820
Phillip b 1834

I also have in my notes that he may have been married 3 or 4 times - I am not sure this is correct, just a note I had made.

I do not have verification of this information, however, I thought it might be a starting place for you.

I also have Phillip's father listed as Peter Dauge born 1765
Peter's father is listed as Phillip Dauge born 1740.

Additional note: DOZIER/DAUGE: descent fvrom Jacques/James Dauge, Huguenot who arrived at Princess Anne VA/Currituck NC c1675.

I believe the child that was listed as Closy for Phillip Dozier and Mary Lamb was actually Cloe Dozier.

My understanding is he was possibly married 3 times. His last wife was Mary Lamb.

Phillip D. Dozier alias Dauge was the son of James - he is listed in his father's will and he became the guardian of his brother (James, Jr.) children. He is mentioned in his brother's will. Listed in the 1800 census of Currituck before removing to Gibson, TN with his son Peter Lamb Dozier.

James was the son of Peter. Refer to the will online at Currituck County. Line works for the Colonial Dames. DAUGE,
