Information about LAIRD family (Bridgeton/Motherwell 1880-1945)

Surnames: Laird, Leishman, Sneddon, Jack
I am looking for relatives of the Laird family who lived in Lanarkshire (Bridgeton, Motherwell, Bothwell) between 1880's-1945. Father and mother were Joseph Laird and Christina Leishman Sneddon Jack. They died during or soon after the bombing of Glasgow in WWII.

Their children were:

Joseph Laird (1882 - ?)
Helen Hill Sneddon Laird (Dunsmuir) (1883 – 1955)
Marion Brewster Laird (Abernethy) (1884 – 1965)
Thomas Laird (1888 – ?)
Bethia Laird (1891 – died in infancy)
Robert Laird (1893 – ?)
James Laird (1898 – ?)
John Laird (1900 – ?)

Do any of these names sound familiar? Thanks!

Surnames: Laird, Nimmo.
Hello Heather
I don't know if this helps, but my Grandmothers brother William Nimmo married Alice LAIRD in the Douglas Hotel in Glasgow on 24 March 1922. Alice was born around 1894 to Andrew Laird and his wife Annie. On the 1922 marriage certificate, it says that Alice Laird lived at 53 Copland road in Glasgow.

As I live in New Zealand, I have had to start from the present day and work backwards to find the ancestors. Rumour has it that William and Alice lived in Liverpool for many years where William worked for the Post Office.

William died on the 19th of March 1959, and is buried in the same grave as my Grandmother in the Muiravonside cemetery at Whitecross in Stirlingshire. Strangely, there is no sign of where Alice is buried.

If any of this sounds familiar, please let me know. I can be contacted on: vabukori@yahoo.com

Thanks
