Surnames: COZAD, KAPPLE
Jessie M. COZAD born 27 Apr 1877 in Reno, Cass Co. IA,
death date 2 May 1903. It is family story that Jessie was
married to Charles T. Kapple on her death bed after being
injured in a horse and buggy accident. Was there a writeup
in the Corning, IA newspaper about this accident, her marriage and death? If there was, could I get a copy?
Thank you in advance, Marcy Rose

Re- Kapple family - you might want to contact- Arthur Kapple at 605 9th St. Corning, Iowa 50841. There is a write-up in the 1984 Adams County History book on Arthur and his second wife Doris - Arthur was the second son of Charles T. Kapple and Lillian (Gustine) Kapple. Nothing mentioned regarding Jessie M. Cozad.

Happy hunting, Marcy

Thank you for replying to my querry. I feel the dates on
Jessie M. Cozad are correct. The 1880 census shows her age 3 and FGS states born 27 Apr 1877, which figures. A kind lady at the Corning Library sent me the newspaper Obit, which shows date of death as 2 May 1903. I am sorry I did
not post a message saying that my quest had been filled. I don't know the answer to all the questions but I will keep searching. Thank you again. Marcy Rose in CA

Hi Folks,
My name is Brian Kapple. My aunt has completed our Kapple line back to Thomas Caple (changed to Kapple when he came over from Cork County, Ireland). You are invited to check out our family site in myfamily.com. Write back to me so I can shoot you over the pass word. Thomas's wife was a direct descendant of John & Pricilla Alden of the Mayflower. Makes for some pretty interesting reading. Take Care.
