That marriage produced 8 children, 2 sons and 6 daughters; one of which was Ida Dotson b: 22 Jul 1861 in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana d: 7 Mar 1944 in Evanston, Uinta, Wyoming.
William's second marriage was to Samantha Jane McDonough b: 12 May 1844 in Summerville, Mississippi d: 26 Nov 1929 in Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona. I have search for a Summerville anywhere in Mississippi and so far I cannot find it. This marriage produced one daughter. Samantha was married three times, her second was to William on 30 May 1870 in Salt Lake City. There are several sources to support this data including the 1870, 1880 and 1900 census records, Utah Census records, and a Sons of the Utah Pioneers Membership Applications for a 2nd great-grandson of William.
