I found a Mary E Fansler in the 1880 federal census- Platte, Clay Co. MO it says she was a widow 87 years old born ohio. with her is listed a Nancy 15, William 7, Pheby 5, Mahala 3 and Buerte age 1. the census call these her children but we know better. has to be grand children or great grand children. I think Nancy could be Nancy Matilda Ryan whose age on her marriage in Bates co in 1885 was vouched for by an E Fansler. Can anyone help me with this family? Sue

I think that this is Mary (Stephens) Fansler, wife of William. William may have died between 1870 and 1880. I believe that she is 37 and not 87. Phoebe Stephens is her mother and Nancy her sister. I found them in the 1850 census Preston,Platte,Mo as I am searching for Stephens family. Vivien
