My father's name was not on your list but I wanted to write and let you know that those pictures are priceless. There is a celebration going on as you know to honor these vets. I am planning to go to the Black Caucus Event September in Washington DC. Those pictures would be a blessing for many because this was the last segregated unit.
My father's name is Emmett McKiver. He was from North Carolina, he was wounded in admitted to a hospital in Kobe Japan. If you have any information that can help me locate some of the men who served with him I would appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Sandra

thanks so much for your kind words! I wish I could help you with your search.

So far, the 'Old Buddies" my dad asked me to look up had died. Which was a sad finding for him.

I wish you much luck in your quest!
Laura

My late My father-in-law, Lloyd A Haskin Jr, served in the Army as a sharp shooter photographer in the Korean War. I have scanned about 300 slides he took during the war. Many sites and soldiers' identities are lost to time as Lloyd Haskin has passed to the next life. The slides however are safe and i must say incredible. I would like to share them with others who may be interested. Please advise where i might send the images. I have them in multiple formats: digital, CD, hard copy as well as the original slides. Just point me where and what to share and i will gladly forward this long saved treasure of graphic history.
