On the 1900 census, the name is given as John S Davis, but should be John C.

Here is their son John on the 1900 census. He was living next door to his parents.

I found a website that said that John C Davis's parents were Jesse and Nicy Davis. They are on the 1850 Nacogdoches County, Texas, census. They have a son who is 3 years old born in Miss. However, on the 1860 Bee County, Texas, census, it shows that John's middle initial is H. I don't believe this is John C Davis.

On the 1880 census record there is a Lindsey F Davis who also lives in Melrose, Nacogdoches County, Texas. However, I could not find a John C Davis with his family at any point.

I found Leonard Davis, the son of John C and Sallie Elliott Davis living in Dallas County, Texas around 1918. His birthdate was December 13, 1888.

Thanks for the look up. A kind volunteer looked up the deaths of my grandparents in Sweetwater, Tx.

My Grand parents are Danirl M Davis, and Lillie Mae Tatum. the death records of Daniel list J E Davis as the father and Sarah Elliot as his mother. It also list his birth in Tennessee but I beleive it was in nacadoches or shelby counties considering their residence between 1880(Nacadoches) and 1900(Shelbyville).

On the 1900 census it list:

John C Davis 50
Sallie ( shows she has had 6 births and 5 are living)
Daniel M 16
Georges (I think 15)
Leonord ( i think 10)

In the 1910 census Lenord living with both brother and father.

I think that
John Edgar Davis &
Protor (Peter)
are John and Sallies 2 older children.

1920 Sallie is living with Daniel and she died in 1927.

Daniel and Lillie's family
move to Fisher County before 1930 my father was
James Elton Davis the youngest son of Daniel and Lillie.

Anyway, I was wondering if these facts could help you look up any more information on any members of these family.

Well, Thanks again for the information. I'm kinda new to this and appreciate any help.
