Hello,
I am searching for Bessie the first wife of my husband's grandfather and their child Delores Wilson according to the 1930 Census she was likely born in Monongahela Twp, Greene County, PA in Jan-Mar of 1930. Bessie was likely born in the Greene County/Washington County, PA area around 1906 and married Charles sometime between 1920-1925. They appear in the 1930 census living in the Penn Pitt Coal mining town in Greene County. Shortly after that Charles left her and started a new family in WV. I would love to have any information. I do not know Bessie's maiden, but I do know that her parents were from Austria and likely railroad, coal or steel workers. I also believe she was likely remarried and thus changed her name and Delores's last name. Any help would be greatly appreciated as Delores would be my mother in law's long lost sister.

Thank You.

Very few Green County marriages are online at present. I don't know if you have checked with the Greene County Clerk's office for a marriage license. The Clerk's office may be able to find the record under the groom's name. According to the link below, the office accepts mail requests for searches.

I did a first name only search for Delores in Greene County for the 1940 census.

This is the only record, Delores Pokos, that I found that comes close to her age:

It is interesting that there is a Wilson family living next to them.

I then searched for this Delores Pokus in the 1930 census. I could not locate her, but I believe this is the same Jacob and Elizabeth in 1930 spelled Pohos:

(Borders changed and Yugoslavia was formed from part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.)
